♥ Välkommen till den femte upplagan av Wrong Direction Home! ♥
Under vecka 26 i sommar träffas konstnärer, kreatörer och musiker från Sverige, Norge och Danmark och bygger festivalen ”Wrong Direction Home” tillsammans ute på Vrångsholmen. En atmosfärisk och lummig idyll omger den vackra men spöklika utställningsbyggnaden på Vrångsholmen, som har en lång historia av konstnärlig verksamhet.
Vår festival är er festival. Wrong Direction Home är hemmet för alla missanpassade stämningshöjare, gemenskap är vårt ledord. Utan engagemang är vi ingenting och det här kan bli hur stort och hur fantastiskt som helst. Du som har lust och möjlighet att hjälpa till att få WDH att växa är hjärtligt välkommen att bidra med dig själv på det sätt du kan. WDH har inga ambitioner att gå med vinst, allt vi drar in går till nästa års festival. Vi ser det inte som att vi har en publik att förnöja utan att alla som besöker är en i gänget, därför är det viktigt för oss eldsjälar att vi blir fler som brinner för vår lilla pärla.
Festivalhelgen kommer vara fylld till bredden av konstnärligt uttryck i mångfald, workshops, filmvisningar, musik etc. Och natten bjuder på dans dans dans.
♥ Tema : Misguided Youth ♥
Temat är öppet för tolkning, men är inspirerat av Vrångsholmens bakgrund som anstalt för vanartade pojkar. Det fångar även in vår generations överflöd av valmöjligheter och frihet, som egentligen bara gör oss vilsna. Växer vi upp? Vill vi växa upp? Vi som unga vuxna står med ett ben i den ekologiska kampen , ett i ekorrhjulet och med hela kroppen i ett oändligt mediabrus. Vi vill lyfta blicken från mobilen och ouppnåeliga ideal och istället skapa ett oretuscherat möte mellan människor, musik och konst på den vackraste av platser. På Wrong Direction Home behöver vi inte växa upp och det finns ingen rätt väg. Enkelt sagt, vi kan ta fel väg hem.

♥ Welcome to the fifth Wrong Direction Home! ♥
Artists and musicians from Scandinavia gather at Vrångsholmen for one week of collaborations. The final weekend, 26-28 June, we will present our work in an exhibition open for public and there will also be a packed program of concerts, and more. The house at Vrångsholmen offers a very special atmosphere for us all to work and meet in. There is a long tradition of cultural events and art practices connected to the place.
Our festival is your festival. Wrong Direction Home is the home of all happy misfits, we are our own little community. Without the commitment and dedication of participants we would be nothing and this could be however fantastic and grand we want it to be. You who have the desire and ability to help make WDH grow are more than welcome to contribute with whatever you want. WDH have no ambitions to make any profit, all money the festival brings in stays with the festival. We don’t look at it as if we have an audience to please, all visitors are one with the gang. Because of that, it’s important for us devotees and enthusiastic spirits that we multiply, our little pearl needs to be taken care of.
♥ Theme : Misguided Youth ♥
Our theme is open to interpretation, but is inspired by the history of Vrångsholmen as an institution home for maladjusted boys. The theme also touches with our generation’s abundance of choices and freedom, that in the end only make us feeling lost. Do we actually grow up? Do we want to grow up? We as young adults stand with one foot in the enviroment struggle, one in the rat race and with our whole being in an endless media noise. We want to look up from the phones feed and the unachievable ideals and instead create an unpolished meeting between people, music and art in the most beautiful place. At WDH we don’t need to grow up and there is no wright way. Simply put, we can take the wrong direction home.
